Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of Maestro's Sidekick ("the app", "we"). By using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Who can use the app
The app is for teachers and the assistant teachers they invite. You need a Google account to sign in. You must be allowed by your school or district to use a tool like this with your students' information.
Your content and your students' information
- You own the information you enter or import. We use it only to provide the app to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You're responsible for having the right to use that information. That includes following your school's policies and any laws that apply to student records, such as FERPA and COPPA.
- You're responsible for anything you send or share through the app, including emails to families and public showcase links.
- You're responsible for images and files you add. Only use material you have the right to use, and follow copyright law.
AI-written content
Some features draft text with AI. AI can make mistakes. Review and edit anything it writes before you send, grade with, or share it. You're responsible for the final content.
Acceptable use
Don't use the app to break the law or to harass or harm anyone. Don't try to access other users' data, interfere with the service, or get around its security. Don't use the app to send spam.
Google services
Features that connect to Google Classroom, Forms, Gmail, and Drive also follow Google's own terms. You can disconnect Google at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Availability and changes
The app is under active development and may change, add, or remove features. We work to keep it available and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own backups; Settings → Data can export one.
Ending your use
You can stop using the app and delete your data at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date above. If the changes are significant, we'll tell users in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
